![]() Try to clear the cache on the app having issues If your speaker or receiver sound gargled or are not working at all, the following step:Įnsure that the phone is not playing through a wired or bluetooth headsetĬheck the speaker or receiver are clean, and not obstructed (If your phone has a removable back cover, take it off an clean the speaker) Note: Some Settings, Menus, or Icons may differ from that of your device depending on your software version and wireless service provider. If the card was formatted as internal storage that means it was encrypted, so don't bother trying to recover data from it: you might find a tool that could recover something from a card in this state, but the encryption would make it a waste of time trying. Not being able to hear some one or them not being able to hear you disables the basic purpose a phone, below are some troubleshooting steps to help fix the issue. But these things are designed to cope with parts of the card wearing out, at least up to a point, so an abrupt total failure like this sounds like something more serious (hence my mentioning my MBR failure above). ![]() If you were using it for app storage you may find that some of your apps are no longer available or no longer work.įormatting microSD as internal will somewhat reduce their lifetime as storing apps' data on them (more than the apps themselves) will increase the number of read/write cycles and make them wear out faster. Luckily for you it sounds like your photos were not stored there (probably because the DCIM folder already existed in internal storage before you did this, and so there was no reason to move it), though I cannot guarantee that all of them will be there (in principle there's no reason it can't extend the DCIM folder to the SD card if it's formatted as internal). So there's probably an element of bad luck here, but the truth is that they do have a finite lifetime, and so you shiould always back up anything important that's on them (actually you should do this anyway: even if the cards were bombproof, if the phone is lost or stolen the card is gone too). Conversely I've another card that is still working after 8 years. I experienced a master boot record failure (abrupt, complete death) on one lightly-used card from a reputable manufacturer after just a few months, which is the sort of thing this sounds like. MicroSD cards do fail, and can do so in different ways and for different reasons. Or is it not a good idea to do the extend the sd card as phone memory? thanks this way i was told i would not have to use an app to make my apps go to the card, as the phone now would be thinking is had all this memory built in. So i'm now getting a samsung v10 class card to put back in the phone.ĭo these just fail like this? it was new when installed and i did not thound the terminals and when i installed it the phone asked me if i wanted to make it extended so i did. So what makes these just go dead? it is the micro sd hs 32gb card. i even use amoie to see if it was showing as a drive and nothing. i looked into the dcim-camera and i see what i think is all my photos, so i removed the sd card and put it in the pc to check it and it appears to be dead. so if it shows that the memory is extended, where will it put photos as i collect them? the reason i ask is today i get a message that the sd card has been ejected. I have the kg k20 plus lgmp260 and i had 32gb sd card in it for 2 years, i had is set as extended memory.
